A Pico Laser eliminates pigmentation particles and stimulates collagen in your deep skin layers using short and superfast pulses of non-ablative lasers.
Non-ablative lasers work by generating heat below your skin surface to induce skin-repairing processes without injuring the skin surface.
A pico laser treatment will work very well for you if you have any of the following common skin concerns:
Many opt to do a Pico Laser facial as a “lunchtime procedure” at a nearby skin clinic because it only takes a short amount of time.
If you are unsure that this is suitable for you, you may schedule a consultation with us first.
Consultation is free for first-time customers, and our doctor will assess your skin condition before recommending an appropriate treatment.
Pico Lasers are 10x faster than traditional nanosecond lasers, delivering significantly more shots per unit of time to treat the target area.
The word “Pico” is a time measurement term for “one trillionth of a second”, which is 1/10000000 of ONE second!
The Picocare 450 laser machine is one of the most highly-rated and well-reviewed lasers in the aesthetics market. It is widely used by many dermatologists in Singapore.
How effective is Picocare? Well, the efficacy of a laser treatment is determined by how fast the laser is — the faster it is and the shorter the duration between pulses, the more shots it can make to the affected skin.
Picocare 450 delivers laser pulses in intervals of 450 Picoseconds — for perspective, that’s 0.00000000045 seconds.

Picocare 450 lasers work at high speed and are very effective at breaking down pigment with minimal damage to the skin.
Pico Laser treatments are less risky and less aggressive compared to their ablative and fractional counterparts.
To see substantial results, other traditional treatments typically take weeks.
Pico Laser treatments show visible results within days post-treatment, and your skin continues to improve over 3 to 6 months, becoming brighter, softer, and more radiant.
Laser treatments are rigorously tested and proven extremely effective for fine lines, acne scars, sun damage, dark spots, and wrinkles.
Even in severe cases, it takes around 3 to 6 sessions to achieve satisfactory results.
Patients are thoroughly screened, treated, and monitored by our highly-trained doctor during and after the session.
Pre-treatment Consultation
In-depth skin analysis, followed by a customized treatment plan.
Treatment
We will do a basic cleanse, and then apply a numbing cream to prepare the skin. You’ll need to wait about 20 minutes for the numbing cream to take effect.
The laser treatment lasts about 10 minutes and feels like light pricking on the skin.
Post-treatment
You might feel a relatively intense sunburn effect, but without any actual burn or broken skin. We will apply nourishing serum and sunscreen to protect your skin and facilitate its healing.
For first-time customers, our Picocare Pico Laser Facial treatment costs S$400.
The price includes consultation, customised treatment, and pre/post-treatment care products.
To help you achieve the skin results you desire, we take care of you from before you start to post-treatment recovery.
2 weeks before commencing treatment, we will prescribe whitening/cleansing serums and masks for you to use. You should continue applying these 2 weeks after treatment as well.
The serums suppress melanin production and boost collagen growth, speeding up skin cell turnover rate and healing while minimizing the possibility of post-laser hyperpigmentation
If you have severe acne, we might prescribe topical creams or facials to reduce the acne before treatment to maximize its effectiveness
If you smoke, you should stop at least 2 weeks before the treatment.
Smoking not only slows down your recovery, it causes dry skin, which detracts from your ideal results.
If you are on blood-thinning medication, you should stop 1 week from treatment.
Blood-thinners may hinder the healing process because they prevent blood from clotting when/where it's needed
Avoid alcohol at least 2 weeks before treatment
If you have a history of cold sores or herpes, we may prescribe Prophylactic antivirals.
Finally, after the procedure you should apply sunblock as long as you are getting any sun exposure, for approximately 5 to 7 days or when your skin has healed completely. However, daily sunscreen is recommended as a routine.
If you have a big day coming up, you should schedule your procedure for at least 1 week before the event to allow any residual effects to clear up.
Your skin might be red or swollen for a short time after the procedure.
These symptoms are common (just for the first few days):
Sometimes there might be dark spots, crusting, and finally, flaking — which then reveals the fresh and healthy skin underneath!
Because the nature of laser treatments are to some extent injurious in nature (in order to stimulate healing processes), some of these side-effects may occur. They are mostly temporary and reversible.
A guide to Laser Skin Treatments — different types, advantages, disadvantages, and how to choose
There are 3 types of laser procedures for the skin — Ablative, Non-ablative, and Fractional. We will introduce you to what they are, what they do, and how effective can be for your skin issues.
The most effective procedure for skin resurfacing, but it comes with more risks and downtime. In a nutshell, this is a one-time treatment that vaporizes the topmost layer of the skin so new tissue can grow to replace it.
The result is the formation of new skin tissue — which undoubtedly reduces pigmentation, wrinkles, and fine lines.
Due to the aggressive nature of this treatment, which essentially burns off the top skin layer, your recovery time can be as long as 2 to 3 weeks.
Non-ablative lasers penetrate the skin without damaging its top surface. Focussed beams deliver controlled energy to underlying skin tissue where the beams stimulate reparative responses, while the outermost layer is kept intact.
Although downtime is minimal, several treatments may be required to achieve substantial results.
Fractional laser treatments use a combination of ablative and non-ablative techniques to get the best possible result with minimal risk and recovery time.
Instead of burning off the surface(ablative), or inducing controlled injury beneath the skin surface to stimulate repair processes(non-ablative), fractional lasers deliver focused microbeams of energy to the target skin area. To use an analogy, it is like enhancing a photo pixel by pixel. Like micro-doses of treatment, if you will.
Although fractional and resurfacing laser procedures are not as efficient as ablative treatments, they are very popular because they are more comfortable and require lesser downtime.
